Scientific Objectives

The goal of MOPITT is to enhance our knowledge of the lower atmosphere system particularly how it interacts with the surface/ocean/biomass systems. The particular focus is the distribution, transport, sources, and sinks of carbon monoxide and methane in the troposphere.
