Personal Web Page Policies
Revised 5/12/2004
ACD Personal web pages are currently provided on our web server acd.ucar.edu but may eventually be ported to www.acd.ucar.edu. They are intended to provide an area for staff to use for web development work, and for information relevant to their projects and career in ACD. Other non-business uses of personal web pages are not allowed by UCAR policy.
In addition to UCAR policy, ACD has these restrictions on personal web pages:
- The URL for personal web pages may change. Be prepared to send out a new location if we move the web pages (we may eventually move them off of acd.ucar.edu and onto the web server which provides www.acd.ucar.edu for instance).
- Scripts are allowed only after review by the a primary Systems Administrator in ACD.
- PHP is not allowed.
- Password authentication is allowed, but passwords defined by .htaccess files must be unique from any other passwords in use at UCAR.
- Major projects should have their own web pages -- contact a primary Systems Administrator in order to have a page set up on the machine which serves www.acd.ucar.edu.
- Any web content, configuration, or technology which compromises network security or is not in accordance with CSAC security policies may be modified or removed at the discretion of a systems administrator.
